Colloidal Silver for CandidaColloidal Silver for Candida
At one time, it was noticed that those who used silver flatware did not suffer the same diseases as their less-fortunate colleagues. This disease resistance was eventually attributed to the small amounts of silver that were being ingested as the people used their silver spoons and forks. The amount of silver ingested from utensils is small. But it does not take much to give your health and body and boost. In fact, candida overgrowth has been shown to respond to treatment with colloidal silver. It is called "colloidal" because the silver is in a colloid, or suspension. The particles of silver are too small to be seen, but slightly larger than individual molecules. This is why it is also sometimes called ionic silver. Candida is a nasty little fungus that can be difficult to eradicate from the body, but colloidal silver may help. Colloidal silver is antimicrobial. That means it kills harmful microbes. This germ-killing quality is well-known and proven. It has been used to dress wounds and, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria are on the rise, is even used in hospitals to disinfect catheters and breathing tubes. These uses do not involve the ingestion of colloidal silver, however. Using Colloidal Silver for Candida - The Controversy Colloidal silver is a controversial treatment. Some medical professionals warn that it has not been proven safe and effective. Others caution potential users that it does nothing to help any health problem, and may even have harmful side effects such as argyria. Argyria is a grayish tone to the skin due to a build-up of silver in the body. Yet there are plenty of testimonials regarding its effectiveness, so something seems to be going on that bears looking into. Proponents of colloidal silver treatment for candida claim it kills internal yeast. They also say it stimulates the regeneration of healthy tissues. Its effectiveness lies in its apparent ability to prohibit enzymes that lead to increased yeast production. The silver ion attacks the enzyme system of the yeast cell membrane, preventing the yeast from multiplying. For internal use, the usual suggested dose is 1-2 teaspoons twice a day, usually morning and evening after a meal. Colloidal silver is recommended in conjunction with an anti-candida diet. Colloidal silver for candida treatment can be spritzed onto topical yeast infections as well. This is the safest and least controversial use of the colloid. You can use it as a mouthwash as well. If you do choose to use colloidal silver in treating candida, do so for a short period of time at first. And it is always best to consult a physician or medical practitioner before starting any treatment for candida or otherwise.
